Osceola Church of the Nazarene

A traditional Church of the Nazarene congregation on Highway WW in Osceola, Missouri. Come as you are. We would be glad to have you with us this Sunday.

Plan your visit

Sunday morning is the best way to get to know us. Here is what it looks like, so nothing catches you off guard.

Sunday School, 9:45 to 10:45 AM

A smaller, conversational hour in God's Word before the worship service. If you would rather ease in, come at 10:45 for worship. Nobody will mind.

Morning Worship, 10:45 to 11:45 AM

About an hour. We sing hymns and worship songs, pray together, read the Scriptures and hear a message from the Bible. The altar is open to anyone who wants to pray, and we share the Lord's Supper regularly. All who love Jesus Christ are welcome at His table.

When you arrive

  • Dress however you are comfortable. You will see work boots and Sunday best in the same pew.
  • Sit anywhere. If you have a question, anyone near you will be glad to help.
  • Children are welcome in worship.
  • If you would like, stay a few minutes after the service to meet Pastor Jarod.

Finding us

We are at 235 SE Hwy WW, on Highway WW south of Osceola. Look for the church sign on the highway.

Who we are

Osceola Church of the Nazarene is a traditional Church of the Nazarene congregation serving Osceola and the surrounding St. Clair County communities. We belong to the Joplin District and to the worldwide Church of the Nazarene, a Protestant denomination in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition. Our mission is the mission of the whole church: to make Christlike disciples in the nations.

On Sunday mornings that looks like hymns sung with heart, preaching that takes the Bible seriously, prayer for one another, and a church family that keeps showing up for each other the rest of the week.

Our pastor

Jarod Rowley serves as pastor of Osceola Church of the Nazarene and is an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene. He would be glad to meet you on a Sunday morning, or you can reach him by phone or email.

A Christian people

We hold the historic Christian faith confessed by believers through the centuries, and we count as brothers and sisters all who belong to Jesus Christ.

A holiness people

God's grace does more than forgive. By His Spirit, He cleanses the heart and makes a life of love and obedience possible. We call this entire sanctification, and we preach it as good news.

A missional people

We are sent. Here in Osceola and around the world, we share the gospel, make disciples, and serve our neighbors in Jesus' name.

What we believe

We hold the Articles of Faith of the Church of the Nazarene. In short, we believe:

  1. There is one God, who exists eternally as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  2. The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are inspired by God and contain everything we need to know for salvation and Christian living.
  3. People are born with a fallen nature and are inclined toward sin.
  4. Those who finally refuse God's grace are lost eternally.
  5. Christ's atonement is for every person. Whoever repents and believes in the Lord Jesus Christ is justified, born again and set free from the rule of sin.
  6. Believers are to be sanctified wholly, after the new birth, through faith in Jesus Christ.
  7. The Holy Spirit bears witness to the new birth and to the entire sanctification of believers.
  8. Our Lord will return, the dead will be raised, and the final judgment will take place.

We practice two sacraments, baptism and the Lord's Supper, as Christ commanded. You can read the full Articles of Faith on nazarene.org.
